Clearwater were employed by the main contractor R G Carter to review the M+E installation and oversea the commissioning management for the refurbishment of the two St Stephens Towers in Norwich from the previous Arriva offices to provide new living spaces for students, encompassing 702 rooms and a new link between the buildings.
The new student accommodation comprised of a mixture of studio, two duo and cluster flats with open communal spaces, study areas, gym, cinema room and games room and is located above existing live retail stores.
The entire building for Crown Student Living was reclad in a new curtain walling system, installed within a logistically challenging site adjacent to Norwich bus station and above occupied retail units and completed in 2019.
Heating was provided by local electrical panel heaters with hot water provided form a central combined heat and power (CHP) system.
