The scheme for Saffron Housing, a 58-apartment independent living scheme, over 3 storeys, situated in Acle on the Norfolk Broads consists of one and two bedroom apartments with communal facilities including restaurant, commercial kitchen, and hair salon. 

Clearwater were appointed by the Main Contractor R G Carter to work with their M+E contractor to develop the Stage 3 design for Stage 5 construction information. Working closely with the Architect and Contractors team the design initially required the information to be changed to REVIT to allow accurate 3D modelling. As part of this process Clearwater value engineered the project to relocate and reduce the size of main plant and combine heating systems to reduce the lateral services in the corridors. Also the corridor services were changed so that the domestic cold water pipework went a different route to the heating pipework to prevent issues with warming the domestic water. 

The scheme is expected to be open by late autumn 2022.
